The article, "Enrage Me, or Engage Me" presented an excellent point about lack of progress in education. The realization that a new technology-driven age is upon us is something that it seems has yet to take hold in the educational world. With all of the emphasis in schools being placed on coming up with ways to limit electronics (i.e. cell phones, laptops, etc.) being utilized in the classroom, the inherent purpose of a school has been forgotten -- find ways to teach better. Rather than pushing out new technology, fearful of the distractions it could create, teachers should be seizing the opportunity to create new, more efficient, and engaging means of learning. There is so much game-based media on the internet that is relevant to any curriculum that could be used to get that disinterested child in the back of the room intrigued and, eventually, excited about school.
